To know them is to love them... turn it up loud.
Tight Lipped belts out trashy sleezy punk anthems. Joy, Sam & Lauren put on a hell of a show when I saw them at Roxy and Dukes. I found them so riveting that I drunkenly pestered them to buy a tshirt before they were done getting off the stage. Sam made sure I got the right size, and I rock it proudly. I highly recommend checking them out when they start gigging again. Find their Facebook and Instagram pages. Joy also runs a killer shop. Joy Vay's House of Trash.
Six to Eight Mathematics I've known since give or take 2010, and they've aged like a fine wine. Alana, Ali, MB & Dan's 2017 EP SHUT UP is probably my favorite release from them. It slams. Everybody Hates You and Innocent are bangers. Their preceding album Mental Melodies is awesome too, the song Innocent rocks. They've hit a stride in the last 7 years, can't wait to see what comes next. I like them so much, I bought their tshirt too.
Jigsaw Youth is not to be fucked with. They're from Staten Island and they're more hardcore than I'll ever be. I witnessed them down in Asbury and at my favorite defunct venue the Clash Bar and I knew that it was a matter of time before they blew up. They're touring again soon, so try and catch them near you. Unbelievable show, the energy is exhilarating. I ordered two tshirts from them because I couldn't decide on one, and they included the nicest handwritten note ever. Wasn't expecting that from such brutally intense (frankly terrifying) people. Also their music videos are next fucking level. Find em on Instagram. I'm more intimidated by Jigsaw Youth than any band of dudes, that's for sure.
